Unisoap: The Adventure of Solidarity Soap
The Collection – Giving a Second Life to Soap
Unisoap is a unique initiative in France that transforms waste into hope. The first step in this process is the collection of used soaps.
In hotels, hundreds of thousands of barely used soaps are thrown away every day. This partnership with hotels aims to recover them in order to recycle them.
Each partner establishment is equipped with specific bins for collection, so that used soaps can be recovered and have a new life.
The Harvest – Transform to Give Back
Once the soaps are collected, they are transported to centers.
This phase involves sorting, cleaning, and recycling the soaps.
The recovered pieces are first cleaned of all impurities, then melted and reformed into new soaps.
This process, in addition to being ecological, also creates jobs for people with disabilities, thus reinforcing the social impact of the project.
The Donation – Offering Hygiene and Dignity
The last step of the cycle is the donation.
The recycled soaps are redistributed to charities in France and internationally.
These associations are then responsible for distributing them to populations in difficulty, for whom access to hygiene is a daily challenge.
Thanks to Unisoap, these soaps find a new use, offering both hygiene and dignity to the most vulnerable people.
This project shows how a simple gesture, like recycling a soap, can have a profound impact on the lives of thousands of people around the world.
As UNISOAP says so well: “together, we can go even further”
